The collection contains a letter, 1772 May 20, publisher Joseph Barber to the Duke of Northumberland requesting permission to dedicate the écorché print to him; a handwritten prospectus, 1772, stating the print to be the work of anatomist Jeremiah Bridges, painter Francis Sartorius and engraver Charles Grignion; and a manuscript account Bridges intended to publish giving details of anatomical errors by previous writers on the osteology of the horse.
